Likewise called M31, Andromeda is the Galaxy's closest significant universe. It evaluates about 152,000 light-years all over and, with virtually the same mass as our home universe, is headed for a crash along with the Galaxy in 2-4 billion years. In the meantime, Andromeda remains an object of study for many astronomers.
