It was the 128th Shuttle bus objective and also the 30th objective to the International Spaceport Station. While at the periodic lab, the STS-128 crew carried out 3 spacewalks.Hernandez joined NASA's Johnson Space Center in Houston in 2001. There, he was a materials analysis engineer in the Products & Processes division ultimately, he became branch main.
